The Company Finsterwalder Umwelttechnik was founded in 1997 by Tobias Finsterwalder and Dr. Klemens Finsterwalder with the aim of developing decentralized biogas plants for waste recovery.
As the first project, launched in 2000, a biogas plant for food waste recovery at the company site was built. For the operation of the plant the BioPower Bernau GmbH & Co. KG was established as a wholly owned subsidiary. The plant processes about 6000 tons / year of food waste from restaurants.
From the operating experience, since 2004, planning services are offered. In 2006 and 2007 the first two biogas plants in accordance with the Fitec-process were
built.
